Insurance Claims

Steve's Auto Body & Collision Centre has handled thousands upon thousands of insurance claims on collisions and otherwise damaged motor vehicles.  Steve's has worked with literally hundreds of insurance company's and is often preferred for our knowledge and compliance to industry standards.

What to Do at an Accident:

  • On the scene, first be sure there is no bodily injury--if there is call 911 immediately!
  • We recommend calling the police or if the damage is low, visiting an accident reporting centre in your area
  • If police are not called to the scene, be sure to collect the names, addresses, telephone of other vehicle owner(s) and witnesses
  • If your vehicle is not drivable and needs towing be sure when you sign the tow truck driver's work order (for towing only) that is for just towing and nothing else.  You have the right to have your vehicle taken to the repair shop or location of your choice.  Vehicles can be dropped off at Steve's any time, day or night
  • You will need to make a decision whether or not to involve your insurance company (See Insurance FAQs for more information)  Some people decide to pay for damages themselves in order to save them from increased insurance premiums

What Steve's Will Do:truck looks like new

  • Steve's will provide you with a written estimate along with full explanation of the repairs required

  • If needed we will electronically submit the estimate to your insurer

  • Once the agreed upon estimate is approved by the insurer, required new parts are ordered.  Once they arrive repairs begin

  • Repairs may include dismantling in order to repair or replace parts, unibody structural repairs, mechanical repairs and wheel alignment, and custom colour matching

  • If, during the repair process any more damage is discovered that is accident related, it too will be covered as a supplement to the insurance claim.  Steve's will act on your behalf with your insurance company so that there is no inconvenience to you

  • Once the repair is complete your vehicle will be returned to you in its PRE-ACCIDENT condition.  Steve's will invoice your insurance company directly

As always, you can count on Steve's for any follow-up necessary.  For example, if after some time it is discovered that there is a problem relating back to the accident you need not be concerned as it will be covered as a supplement to the original claim.
